Executive re-elected at AGM

The QDVA’s Annual General Meeting, held April 18th, was largely focused on housekeeping issues and electing new officers for the coming year.

A number of minor changes were made to the association’s constitution to allow some redistribution of executive members’ duties. Rules governing quorums and voting requirements were also revised to reflect the number of attendees at business meetings. Anyone wishing to review the amended constitution should contact a member of the executive committee or simply make a request in the “comment” section below.

The upcoming roster of speakers for our Fall session was reviewed and is to kick-off Wednesday, September 19th with a talk on small animal vaccination issues by Dr. Gordon Strick, DVM of Pfizer Animal Health. Watch this page for details about this and other exciting meetings.

Those attending the AGM also approved organizing a survey about the fate of our annual Christmas Party.

In the absence of volunteers to take over their duties, the current members of the executive committee were re-elected and two new positions were filled. The QDVA executive for the coming year comprises:

President Dr. Vince Politi – Picton Animal Hospital

Vice-president/secretary Dr. Jinni Demine – Trenton Pet Hospital

Treasurer Dr. Naomi Scromeda – Bay Regional Veterinary Hospital

Continuing education co-ordinator Dr. Kristina Bennett – Foster Park Pet Hospital

Communications co-ordinator Dr. Fiona Gilchrist – Hillcrest Animal Hospital

Officer at large (new position) – Dr. Adrianna Sage – Hillcrest Animal Hospital

Kingston liason (new position) – Dr. Koos Toxopeus – Kingston Mills Veterinary Hospital

Erika Spuehler has volunteered to organize CE certificates for her RVT colleagues. More information about this will be provided here and at future meetings. Specific questions should be directed to Erika at Foster Park.
